Hostellerie de Levernois

LOCATION In parkland on the banks of the Bouzaise, in the unblemished encampment of Levernois. It is 1.8 miles from Beaune, next to exit 24.1 of the A6 motorway.

CHARACTER The large but insignificant white residence dates behind to 1750, but has latterly been extended. Despite the vicinity to the motorway, the road residence is gloriously still and relaxing with white sand pathways, H2O facilities and an unblemished grassed area sparse with gentle chairs. Staff are unusually attentive.

ROOMS Two main styles modern, in the newest wing of the road residence and normal in the main house. Rooms in the latter are pleasant, but could do with updating, but the ultimate wing converted with the assistance of a Parisian interior engineer offers spacious, tastefully allocated bedrooms featuring confidant oranges and reds, and lush bathrooms ornate with internal stone. All have complicated touches, together with iPod docks.

FOOD You need to haven in the Michelin-starred restaurant. One of the majority renouned meals immature Carnaroli risotto with frogs" legs and Burgundy snails in garlic thickk cream salsa is a must; further the cheese board, that offers a little 40-50 varieties. Breakfast together with wild wild pig sausage and locally constructed apple extract is served in the oldest piece of the residence and a bustling lunchtime bistro is open to non-residents.

WE LIKE The unfeeling garden, that grows most of the furnish for the kitchen.

NOT SO KEEN The brightly illuminated main grill somewhat lacks character, but you hardly notice, what with the food, 700 wines and friendly, contented staff.
