Decades deadly earthquakes

The largest ever available trembler struck Chile on May 22, 1960. It totalled 9.5 on the Richter scale and triggered a tsunami that swept opposite the Pacific Ocean, murdering scores of people in Hawaii, Japan and elsewhere.
