Lunch deal: The South Indian, 10-dish thaali is a bound cost of �20 (�10 children), together with total refills but incompatible service. Served noon to 2.30pm, Saturdays and Sundays only.

Are they gratified to see you? A bit. Sanminis is owned by Padmini and Dev Sankar, and their son runs the front-of-house operation. He has hereditary his relatives no-nonsense approach.

Is the grill attractive? In a friar way. Housed in a elementary embankment lodge dating from 1857, it is some-more oatmeal than OTT.

Are the tables at large spaced? Fine for a dish for two.

Did you similar to the cooking? Curry as you dont know it, portions of masala prawns, rasam soup and minced mutton astonished. The lentilly pud, flavoured with something same to smoke, was an acquired taste.

Are the loos up to snuff? Functional and clean.

Would a vegetarian starve? The opposite. Diners have the preference of a vegetarian or non-vegetarian platter, and the cook is creation cauliflower consequence the keep in chickpea batter.

Who else goes there? Mid-life couples, Chris Ramson of Ramsons grill opposite, and Tamil expats.

Would you go again? Yes. As remarkable by the ultimate Good Food Guide, Sanminis is a sharp find.
